My First Book of College: Memories, Milestones & Mishaps
Published in Hardcover by Front Porch Pr (June, 2000)
Authors: Marsha A. Grill and Suzette Tyler
Average review score:

A Great Book
This is a wonderful book for first time college students. It's an interactive book that jokes about the college experience, and prompts the reader to play along. By adding pictures and filling out pages, this book can be made into a college scrapbook, to highlight your college adventures. All the different subjects were hillarious! I loved the food group pyramid and the altered nursery rhymes. As a college freshman I could relate, and I thought it was great!

Not His Wife (Silhouette Intimate Moments, No 611)

:)
From the back...
Brian Sandelle was determined to watch his ex-fiancee marry another man. But he couldn't do it alone. He'd recruited Shelly Wilkerson, lifelong friend, to be by his side...to help him pick up the pieces of his lonely life. If only he knew how hard this would be for Shelly...
Shelly never expected to find danger at the end of the aisle. But mysterious phone calls and veiled threats were not enough to keep her from helping Brian-the man she'd adored forever. Then she began to wonder: just how much would she have to sacrifice for a single night in this man's arms?

In my Opinion...
'Not his Wife' is the sequel to 'Days gone By' (the story of Rebecca and Tucker). In this book Brian, who was dumped by Rebecca in the previous book, is determined to see Tucker and Rebecca get married. But, there was no way that he would show up alone, so he asked his best friend Shelly to go with him. Shelly had loved Brian all her life, but he never saw her as anything more than a friend. Shelly thought that she could go with Brian to the wedding and than try to put her feelings for him behind her. Neither of them could have known how that one trip would change their lives forever. On the way to the wedding their plane crashes and they barely survive. They still make it to the wedding, but a mixture of pain pills and alcohol cause Brian to see Shelly in a whole new way. Brian figures that repairing his friendship with Shelly is his biggest concern. But, after discovering that their plane crash was no accident he quickly learns that keeping him and Shelly alive is his top priority. Brian and Shelly become closer to one another as the days go by. Shelly hopes that if they survive to have a future that Brian will want to share it with her. I enjoyed this story. It was fast-paced and filled with mystery, danger, friendship, and romance. I would recommend that you read Rebecca and Tuckers story in 'Days gone By' first.

Kirk Mariner's book "Off 13 - The Eastern Shore of Virginia Guidebook" offers a highly informative and entertaining guide to an overlooked but tranquil peninsula bounded by the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean, not far from the Nation's Capital. On Size and Life
Published in Hardcover by W H Freeman & Co. (May, 1985)
Authors: Thomas McMahon, James Bonner, and John Tyler Bonner
Average review score:

A full of facts book that's a pleasure to read
This is a delightful book to read ! I found many answers to puzzling questions, and really there were many more riddles than I had previously thought of.

The book is far more than informative. It made me think deeper on how life on earth is organized.

I always wondered if animal shapes where subject to any pattern. Did evolution follow any rules or was it a haphazard process ? Was there any relationship between size and velocity ? Could an organism grow to any size ? Giants can be expected to appear, can I believe unbelievable tales ?

Well, maybe the answer to all above questions is not in the book's scope, but it helps a lot. Actually, I found that top of the scale animals routinely departed from the rule set for the rest of their group. They had simply overrun possible competitors.

Reading it is a pleasure. Even though you'll find some math's in it, this is not a technical book. I wasn't disappointed. It stands as a reference book in my library.

The other guy's sperm : the cause of cancers and other diseases
Published in Paperback by Discovery Books (14 June, 1994)
Author: Donald E. Tyler
Average review score:

Is this answer to the cause of certain illnesses?
The other guy's sperm is about a major health risk that is rarely discussed today. The author, a Mayo trained board certified urologists and former clinical instructor at the University of Utah College of Medicine, argues that sperm has a role in a variety of autoimmune diseases including diabetes, thyroiditis, lupus erythematosus, and arthritis. The author concludes that there is evidence that, in certain situations, non self sperm can cause cancer and other diseases, especially as related to male homosexual behavior and certain other kinds of sexual behavior. It is well known that the sperm which enters the circulation system produces an immune reaction. He also claims that evidence exists that other men's sperm may be the essential cause of gonorrhea, nonspecific urethritis, and syphilis. He then provides evidence that bacteria and Treponema are complicating factors only, and that the absence or eradication of the bacteria and Treponema is a false assurance of lack of disease. Research on longevity has consistently found that those who engage in homosexual behavior live to be less that half as old as the married heterosexual population. Part of the reason is due to aids, but most persons actively involved in the homosexual lifestyle commonly suffer from a wide variety of diseases, especially various types of infections and cancers. For this reason, the average age of death for one involved in the homosexual lifestyle is around 44, and those that have aids live about 10 percent less. This work could help to explain why. Is the author correct? This is not an easy question to answer, but this book has certainly raised some questions that must sooner or later be answered. It is must reading for all of those involved in gay health concerns. It is also a neglected area of research that needs to be addressed. The reviewer has spent many years in cancer research, both as a student at a medical school, and as a research associate in a medical school, yet has learned much from his reading of this book. I have many questions about Dr. Tyler's thesis but this is what a good book should do.

Phantasmagoria : A Puzzle of the flesh : stratagey guide
Growing up with in the golden age of computer games was one of the most influential things in my life. I absolutley loved Sierra, and then I began to age like everyone does. Saddly we've come to a time where they say computer games are dead and playstation 2 Dreamcast and the soon to come X-box have dealt an almost death blow to the computer gameing adventure titles. Dispite all the sadness surounding the adverture/role playing market. One game has risen head and shoulders above the rest. Phantasmagoria 2: A puzzle of the flesh. The game is dark, desterbing, graphinc, and full of adult content. Enought to make you sit back and get a tear in your eye for the days of old. The game is tuff aswell, no childs play. That's where the strategy guide comes into play. It's in depth coverage of ever angle the game can take is truly amazing. Being a computer gaming fan I have spent hours, days, even weeks stuck on 1 puzzle. That's why I say thank god for this stratagey guide. Without it you would be just another corpse waiting to happen in phantasmagoria 2: A puzzle of the flesh.
